Vacation, Part III

This was our last real day of vacation. Zach and Caitlin picked out our destination: Glassy Mountain. We ate breakfast in the car and headed to GA. Our Prius wouldn't exactly make it up the mountain to the point to start the hike (like, not at all. We parked at the bottom), so we piled in Zach's truck.

We climbed up the fire tower on top of the mountain. It was cloudy when we first arrived.

After nap, it was bonfire time!

We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows *don't let Zach roast yours. He'll drop it in the fire*

S'mores!

Sunday, we all went to church after a nice, big breakfast. Cooper was complimented (we think) for being "churched." We went back to Aunt Caitlin's for lunch before packing up and beginning the looong drive home. Traffic was bad. There was an emergency potty stop. But we made it and had Monday to rest! It was a great getaway in our favorite place- with my favorite sister, no less. :)

Vacation, Part II

Caitlin took Friday off, so after breakfast we started our fun! We drove down a gravel road to hike to Brasstown Falls.  Except Caitlin forgot to tell us to turn, so we just kept going and going..... but we did eventually get there.

Brasstown Falls

There are several levels, and we hiked down to all but the lowest.

What goes down, must go up, right?

After the falls, we headed to Bryson's for apple picking!

After that, we headed just down the road to Chattooga Belle Farm. Where the view and food is awesome, but the service and wait time is the opposite.

Vacation, Part I

We started our trip once Coop woke up.  3 stops and ATL traffic later, we finally arrived!

Happy Birthday, Aunt Caitlin!
Aunt Caitlin had to work Thursday, so we were on our own. First stop: Stump House Tunnel. The tunnel was started before the Civil War, but never completed. At one point, Clemson stored their bleu cheese in it.

Climbing down
At the same park, there was a small hike to Isaqueena Falls. The falls were mostly blocked by tall trees, but it was fun anyway.

After we finished up, we headed to Station Cove Falls.

We drove up to Oconee Station State Historic Site for a picnic lunch, then headed back to Caitlin's for nap.
