Zoooooooo

When our friends came to town, we hit up the zoo!  (We also ate at The Varsity and went to Piedmont Park.  The guys took in a Braves game, too... but I didn't take pics of any of that...)  Before zoo pictures, let me tell you about Friday night...

The boys left for the baseball game, leaving Miranda and me with all three kiddos.  We were deciding where to go for supper when Miranda realized she didn't have the keys to her van.  The van which was supposed to take them back to the hotel at bedtime.  Uh oh!  I pop a pizza in the oven (which I can't even eat!) and we plan for Miranda to eat, feed Archer, then take my car to go to the hotel to get her keys.  That all went according to plan.  Where is Cooper in all this?  Screaming his head off.  Why? Probably because he was hungry, but wouldn't eat.  Sigh.  Miranda was gone for a hour because her hotel keys didn't work, so she had to get a new set.  Then those didn't work....  While she was gone, Archer ate 1.5 more pieces of pizza; Audrey ate another piece of pizza and applesauce;  Cooper screamed and refused to eat (I think it was being off routine and different sounds/noises).  Yeah, we're so not having three kids.  Miranda finally gets back, I start Cooper's bedtime routine over an hour past his normal time.  He was not happy.  Sometime during all that, Miranda and the kids left.. and her hotel key didn't work again when she got back!  I finally got Cooper down (he ate for over a hour... he was starving!) and I could.not.find.my.phone.  It was nowhere to be found.  I used Google to call it; I could hear it, but was having trouble finding it... yeah, it was in the fridge.  I ate a bowl of cereal and went to bed.  At least the guys had fun!

Now, for the zoo!

It was a beautiful day for the zoo!  And it was pretty busy, but we enjoyed it anyway.

Cooper enjoying the zoo! (It was chilly in the morning, so I was glad I had a blanket for him!)  He spent most of the time like this! I was one happy momma!

Whooooo do you think this is? hahahaha..

Tamarin and baby.. born at the end of July. SO cute!  Apparently, the baby was one of three, but the other two didn't make it.

Kangaroos... I wanted to see them jump, but they were being lazy.

PANDA!

Gorillas!!

Baby on the back!  This baby was born August 30.  Another baby was born the morning we were there, but obviously, it wasn't out to be seen yet.

Living Like Tourists

We decided it was time for us to see Atlanta.  While there isn't much to see (besides traffic), there are a few things we knew we wanted to do while we live here.  It also didn't hurt that J could get us a discount! :)

First stop was The Varsity. (Shout out to Stuart and Miranda for the gift card!) The onion rings were AMAZING. And the fried apple pie was pretty good, too.  Check that off the 'Things to do in Atlanta' list!

Next stop was the Georgia Aquarium.  I guess everyone else had the same idea we did, because it was packed!!! We probably would have enjoyed it more if it was less crowded, but we still had a good time.  Caution: Picture Overload Commencing...

Notice the little eels on the bottom.  I think they are called cucumber eels.

Tropical fish... I could have stayed all day in here!

Of course there is a polka dot fish!

In the tunnel with everything swimming over us!

It feels like you are under the water!

Sea Dragon

African Penguins... all my pictures are blurry. :(

African River Fish

Piranhas... they were incredibly still

Waxy Monkey Frogs- how can you not love that name?!

We also saw the Dolphin Tale show.  The dolphins were really cool to see, but the whole show itself was lackluster.  It was included with the price, so you know we went! Ha!

After the aquarium, we headed to World of Coke.  It was neat, but I am not sure I would pay full price to go (and you know we didn't!)

Notice the sign that says a 16 oz. serves 3!

After that, we were pretty tired! It was a fun day though... too bad we had to go back to work...
