Celebrating 365 Days of Cooper!

Cooper woke up to a new table and chairs, books, and a... whatever you call that thing. He is a little small for the chairs, but he loves standing at the table and playing. After breakfast, we were off to the Memphis Zoo! (Warning: LOTS OF PICTURES!)

It's my birthday!

The Three Morrows
We wanted to get Cooper a stuffed animal for his first zoo trip.  We went into the store and picked out animals he liked: giraffe, meerkat, & penguin (there were not cute Grizzlies and we weren't going to buy him a stuffed warthog :) ).
We asked him which one he wanted, and he immediately pointed to the penguin, so that's what we got him.  He enjoys biting his beak. Ha!

It was a great trip!  It wasn't very crowded on a weekday, and it was overcast.  Cooper enjoyed it more than we thought we would, which in turn made us enjoy it more!  We bought a membership, so we will definitely be going back.

*Updated*

We have a ONE year old! So much has changed in the past year, it really has just zoomed by.  He is becoming such a big boy and melts our hearts daily.  This time last year was not 100% happy, but this year it is 1000% happy!  We are off to the zoo to celebrate (although, let's be honest, I am the most excited about it :) )!

Clothes: 12 months & 18 months
Growing Up:  He has FIVE teeth.  He can clap his hands (He has been clapping things in his hands for months, but finally decided to use his hands.  It's so cute)!  He also started babbling!  We have been waiting for this for a LONG time.  He can say "dada," which thrills J, of course.  He also says "bye" in context sometimes, but we're not 100% sure he knows what he's doing.  Cooper waves hi and bye- when he wants to.
Likes: BLUEBERRIES, bouncing, playing outside, hitting the doorbell on his way downstairs, pointing, handing you something, reading the same book over and over and over and over..., pulling books off the shelf, putting his hand in the toilet (yuck!), being on his knees, seeing daddy come home from work, watching people, gnawing on wood (blocks, his crib, the entertainment center), his spoon, zucchini, bread, hamburger, Cheerios, pasta (rotini), beans, strawberries, and his momma

Dislikes: "No", having his diaper or clothes changed, being cleaned up after eating, getting teeth, mommy walking away, walking (he'd rather crawl), the click of the gate when someone leaves his playroom

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changed depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:00 - up for the day!
8:00 - breakfast
9:15 - nap
11:00 - play
12:15 - lunch
2:00 - nap
4:00 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime

Moments:  First birthday party!  He went to the nursery during church for the first time.. and LOVED it.  He also had his first cold this month.

His doctor appointment went well.  I think we chose a great doctor.  The clinic itself is HUGE though!  We can start Coop on dairy to see how he does with the hope of no reaction.  I did try tomato again last night, and it's still a no go. :(  The doctor said Cooper has maintained his percentages for height, weight, and head, so this is probably how he will grow for a while.  Maintaining percentages mean a healthy child. :)  Based on how Cooper was moving and pulling up, the doctor also predicted Cooper will be walking in the next 6 weeks.  Uh oh!

Height: 31 in (90%)
Weight: 18 lbs 10 oz (10%)
Head: 44 cm (7%)

Next appointment: August 27 (15 months)

Another week, another tooth :)

So hard to believe he will be ONE next week!

Sorry for no smile this week.  Most of them looked like this:

Somebody did NOT want his picture made today.  Which is why his official picture isn't great. :)

[1826]

My how 365 days can change things... (or 1826 :))

Some days it seems like we got married yesterday, and some days it seems like it's been forever.   Time says it has been 5 years.

Every year, I say it has been a crazy year.  And pretty much every anniversary posts includes a move.  This one is no different, but I really do think this has been the craziest year!

November 2013

February 2014

In the last year we,
- had a baby
- had some visitors
- made a few trips to KY and MS
- took an abbreviated trip to the mountains
- spent too much time in the hospital
- were thankful not to be caught in Snowmageddon
- moved (of course)
- bought a house

It's a pretty short list compared to normal, but we learned so much and laughed lots this past year.  Nothing has brought us more joy than our Cooper.

We couldn't imagine spending the past 365 days with anyone else.  Here's to 60ish more years!

Starting off the week with a new top tooth!  We are up to four teeth now, and I see a couple more that should be through in the next week or so.  We shall see.

Video Dump

It's been a while since I have done a video (or even a picture) dump.  So here is one, and maybe one day I will do another picture dump.  :)

I can't believe there are only 3 more weekly pictures after this one!  He is getting too big for the blanket anyway. :)

Walk Out the Front Door

Lots of painting and sanding went into this makeover, but we think it makes a big difference.  And we are glad to have it behind us!  Nan and David helped some, too; otherwise I might have gone crazy from all the sanding and painting.

Before
Four coats of paint on the trim and storm door

Look at all the colors!

After sanding and four coats on the door
We also got a new door knob and painted the door knocker and kick plate.  New peep hole also. :)
