[24] AKA 2!

It's finally here.  Our last monthly picture!  I can't say I'm sad to see it go, but I will miss taking the time to write down how Coop has changed in the past month.  It has been fun to go back and remember when he did things or see how little (or big!) he was at a certain time.  So with ending something, I am going to try to start something new, too.  You'll see it at the bottom. :)

Clothes: 12 months & 18 months for shorts, 24 months & 2T for shirts

Growing Up:  Cooper has said a few phrases and sentences, and it surprises us every time!  He is definitely getting the hang of multisyllable words and even putting some basic sentences together!

Likes: playing outside, Daniel Tiger, watching the cars and trucks go by, putting things in the trash, sweeping, books, being outside, unscrewing lids, playing peek a boo,  being naked, coloring, bananas, pretending to take naps, listening for planes, driving (a car, the tractor, his car, whatever), taking a shower, 'helping' us paint, worms, playing in the dirt, swinging, digging, raking, watering the plants with mommy

Dislikes: you not doing what he tells you, coming inside, having to quit driving, riding in the car, not being pushed high enough in the swing

Schedule:

between 7-8 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
8:45 - play
12:15 - lunch
1:00 - nap
4:00 - play
6:15 - supper
7:30- bath
8:00- bedtime

Funny Story:  When Cooper doesn't want to do something we've asked or is doing something we told him not to do, he covers his eyes.  Because if he can't see us, we can't see him.

Now for our something new!  Hopefully every year I will ask him the same questions.  We can see how it changes over time. :)  He's still pretty little to answer some of these questions, but in time they should get real answers.  Next year, I might add more questions since he'll be able to understand more.

1. What is your favorite color? Orange
2. What is your favorite toy? Hammer Bang Bang
3. What is your favorite fruit? Banana
4. What is your favorite tv show? Daniel Tiger
5. What is your favorite thing to wear? Monkey Jammies
6. What is your favorite animal? Penguin
7. What is your favorite song? Roll the Gospel Chariot
8. What is your favorite book? The Shape of Me and Other Stuff
9. Who is your best friend? Cullin and Jubrey
10. What is your favorite food? French Toast
11. What is your favorite thing to play outside? Digging (for worms)
12. What do you sleep with at night? Penguin, Dos, Pooh, Blanket

Height: 2 ft 10.25 inches (55%)
Weight: 25.5 lbs (23%)

Next check up: 3 year check up!

[23]

In one month, we will have a two year old!  Wow!

Clothes: 12 months & 18 months for shorts, 24 months & 2T for shirts

Growing Up: Cooper is using more and more two syllable words.  I am now mommy most of the time!  He can climb up and down the horse all by himself now, and usually goes up and down more than he rides it. Coop has also started identifying pink and orange correctly most of the time!  He has learned to open doors, which has led to a few surprises!!!  He can recognize the letters C, O, P, M, Q, Y, and Z.  Coop also goes both up and down the stairs by himself.  While he's been able to do it for a while, he insisted on holding someone's hand.  Now, if there's something upstairs he wants, he just goes to get it!

Likes: playing outside, Daniel Tiger, watching the cars and trucks go by, putting things in the trash, sweeping, books, being outside, unscrewing lids, playing peek a boo,  being naked, coloring, bananas, pretending to take naps, listening for planes, driving (a car, the tractor, his car, whatever), taking a shower, 'helping' us paint, being naked (he will tell us he needs to potty so he can shake off his pants and underwear and run around), saying "Amy"

Dislikes: being dirty, you not doing what he tells you, coming inside, having to quit driving, riding in the car

Schedule:

between 7-8 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
8:45 - play
12:15 - lunch
1:00 - nap
4:00 - play
6:15 - supper
7:30- bath
8:00- bedtime

Moments:
Coop made it through his first really long road trip.  He saw new states (VA, WV, MD, DE, and DC-which isn't a state but it counts!).  He saw wild horses on the beach, and he fed geese in DC.  He rode on a train for the first time and had a complete meltdown in the Air & Space Museum because there were no paper towels in the bathroom.  I still need to post those pictures!  This past month has been very eventful for Coop!

Funny Story:
We were eating breakfast Saturday morning (French Toast and bacon).  He tries the bacon, spits it out, and says, "Gross!"  I think he didn't like how crispy it was, but it was still funny.  Who doesn't like bacon?!

Coop loves to count up to things...1,2,3...6 (Jump! or Slide! or Plop!, etc)

Feeling [22]

Cooper is 22 months old!  Today also marks being in our house for one year!

Clothes: 12 months & 18 months for shorts, 24 months & 2T for shirts

Growing Up: Coop has a new phrase..."no, no"  While it's not our favorite phrase, at least it't more than one syllable.  One day we will get there!  He is also babbling names, but won't say them correctly in normal conversation yet.  It's super cute though, and I know he will eventually get there!  The boy loves to climb and can almost get on his horse by himself.  Thankfully, he doesn't seem interested in climbing out of his crib.  He does try to climb in though.

Likes: Daniel Tiger, watching the cars and trucks go by, wearing hats and sunglasses, putting things in the trash, sweeping, books, being outside, unscrewing lids, playing peek a boo, picking out his socks, being naked, coloring, bananas, pretending to take naps, listening for planes, driving (a car, the tractor, his car, whatever), measuring tapes, taking a shower, 'helping' us paint, being naked (he will tell us he needs to potty so he can shake off his pants and underwear and run around)

Dislikes: diaper changes, riding in the car, long hairs on him, coming inside, having wet pants, sitting for too long (if we have to go to several stores), hearing the words 'no' or 'stop', his hands being dirty, pooping on the potty, sitting still in a shopping cart or high chair at a restaurant, his shoes being dirty, getting a splinter

Schedule:

between 7-8 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
8:45 - play
12:15 - lunch
2:00 - nap
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
8:00 - bath

8:25- bedtime

Funny story:

Coop has been saying "wear" when he wants under the covers.  Probably because he knows the words under and wear go together...

[21]

It's that time again! I can't even tell you how much fun the past month has been. Cooper is just so much fun and full of laughs.

Clothes: 18 months & 24 months

Growing Up: Coop's favorite sentence is "Please help." He could be whining or just asking for help... and when we ask what he needs help with, he just repeats the phrase. Ha! Or "get, please."  Of course, there is no indication of what to get!  Cooper can count to three and identify the letters C and O. He loves to point basketball goals everywhere we go. He also FINALLY calls me "Ma" instead of "ba". (Moose and moon have also upgraded to an m instead of a b.) AND he is officially #1 potty trained! He currently refuses to poop in the potty and waits until night time when he has a diaper on to go.  That's just fine with us for now though!

Likes: Daniel Tiger, watching the cars and trucks go by, watching birds & squirrels, carrying his monkey around (I find him in funny spots downstairs), banging, saying 'no' while shaking his head, wearing hats and sunglasses, drinking from momma or daddy's cup, putting things in the trash, sweeping, books, being outside, unscrewing lids, playing peek a boo, picking out his underwear, getting shocked (from static electricity)

Dislikes: diaper changes, riding in the car, long hairs on him, being naked, coming inside, having wet pants, sitting for too long (if we have to go to several stores), hearing the words 'no' or 'stop', his hands being dirty, pooping on the potty, sitting still in a shopping cart or high chair at a restaurant

Schedule:

between 7-8 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
8:45 - play
12:15 - lunch
1:00 - nap
4:00 - snack
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
7:15 - bath
7:45 - bedtime

Moments:
Coop was a ring bearer! He was so cute in his tux. Not that surprised anyone! Cooper gained an uncle and loves "Steee".

[20]

We have a new background this time.  J wasn't home for the picture, plus this is just way easier.  I think I like it better anyway.

He was on the move, so this is the best we could capture!

Clothes: 18 months & 24 months

Growing Up:  Coop is picking up words like crazy.  He is still using mainly monosyllabic words and a few two word sentences.  He did say "I get hand," the other day, so hopefully we are close to two syllable words because deciphering what he means from one syllable is tough! Coop has a mouth full of teeth!!  He is only missing his two year molars.  We have also started/attempted potty training.  We will have to report back next month, but he is going using the potty some and even has underwear "uh ware"!  He is learning more and more animal sounds.  His pig, elephant, and owl noises are just the cutest!!

Likes: Gruffalo and Charlie Cook books (LO and Cook as Coop says), bananas, momma's smoothie, watching the cars and trucks go by, watching birds, carrying his monkey around (I find him in funny spots downstairs), banging, pushing his shopping cart around, saying 'no', wearing hats, drinking from momma or daddy's cup, putting things in the trash, sweeping, his bedtime book Aunt Marion got him (he asks for 'Steee' and 'Kate' when he wants to read it, which is every nap time and bedtime), Mr. Potato Head

Dislikes: diaper changes, riding in the car, long hairs on him, being naked, coming inside, momma leaving him for bible study, having wet pants, when Gruffalo (movie) ends, hearing the words 'no' or 'stop'

Schedule: We are still in between one and two naps..
Two naps:
before 7:00 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
9:15 - nap
9:45 - play
12:15 - lunch
1:00 - nap
4:00 - snack
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime

One nap:
between 7-8 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
8:45 - play
12:15 - lunch
1:00 - nap
4:00 - snack
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime
Moments:
Cooper made it all day without mommy (the longest he has been away from me) for Aunt Marion's party.  He loved seeing Aunt Marion ("M-ian") and all her friends though! Coop also knows his own name and often says it when he sees a picture of himself or catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He has learned to stomp and enjoys stomping on berries from out holly bush.

On the warmer days, we go outside and play in the backyard.  Two of those days, Cooper has walked right over to the neighbor's house (I follow closely behind), gone right to the door and knocked wanting to play with Mr. Johnny (on-eee).  They play ball together while I talk with Mrs. Jan. :)

[19]

Sorry for the bad picture; this was as good as it got tonight!

Clothes: 18 months & 24 months

Growing Up:  He has many new words- too many for me to keep track of!  He has learned to sign sorry, and we have one new tooth (lower canine).  We are almost done teething.. woo hoo!  He has also learned how to go downstairs without any help.  And he can now tiptoe!  Cooper has also started using two word sentences and saying two syllable words (Kate Kate and Daaaa-eeee being the favorite words).  His sentences are so cute and surprise us each time!  Examples: Go inside, Hey cat!, hey Kate Kate!, kick tv (said with only t).  He can also identify the color blue most of the time.
Likes: being outside 'side', washing his hands, books, coloring, sweeping, chips, repeating our words, finding something to sit on, climbing, wearing his hats, coat, shoes, and/or mittens around constantly, play dough, bubbles, stacking blocks, sitting on the potty, books, banana, Mr. Potato head ('Toe!'), The Gruffalo ('LO!')- book and short movie on Netflix

Dislikes: diaper changes, riding in the car, getting teeth, long hairs on him, being naked, bath time

Schedule: We are in between one and two naps..

One nap:
between 7-8 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
8:45 - play
12:15 - lunch
1:00 - nap
4:00 - snack
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime
We have been fighting a 5 am wake up time, and I think it is getting better!  There have been days where he slept til 7:45!  Of course, then he is confused where daddy is all day since he doesn't get to see daddy before work.  We still have some early mornings, but slowly it is getting there.

Moments:  First Christmas Day with all 3 of us, sat on Santa's lap again, pee peed on the potty for the first time, Santa came for the first time (he wasn't feeling well last year) and he LOVED opening gifts

A couple of funny stories:
Cooper asked for a banana 'nana' for breakfast.  I peeled him one and threw the peel away.  Cooper thought I threw away the banana and LOST it. Poor fella.

Coop kept saying 'coat' while we were eating.  When he was finished, we cleaned him up and put him down.  He went to the hooks and grabbed his coat and daddy's coat.  He brought them to J.  J put his coat on and put Coop's coat on him.  Coop looked and me, said 'bye', and turned around and walked to the door.  He wanted to go outside!!

[18]

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I can't believe we have a 1.5 year old!

Clothes: 18 months

Growing Up:  New words are becoming harder to track!  Here are the ones I can think of: hook, chip, horsie (see!), thank, end, done, kick, kite, go, help (although he sometimes says hot or hop instead), beep, hop, pooh (he has a stuffed Winnie the Pooh), acorn (cor), sock, stack, switch, sack, cheese, fry, seat, fire, phone, pillow, rock
New signs: thank you, all done (he has done this one on and off, but it seems consistent now!), bubbles (he doesn't do the actually sign, but we know what he means), socks
And we have two new teeth! (upper right molar and canine)

Likes: being outside, daddy's basketball, balls, washing his hands, books, coloring, mimicking the things we do (cleaning up, washing hands, sweeping), chips, balls, leaf piles, walking backwards, repeating our words, finding something to sit on, climbing

Dislikes: diaper changes, riding in the car, getting teeth, long hair

Schedule:  We had planned to change to one nap, but he didn't seem to think that was such a good plan.  We are still at two naps a day. :)
This is our basic schedule, but it changes depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:00 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
9:15 - nap
11:00 - play
12:15 - lunch
2:15 - nap
4:00 -snack
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime

Moments: First time trick or treating, ate his first real Thanksgiving meal today, first DQ ice cream cone (and he LOVED the cone!), first pie (pumpkin, of course)

Updated!

We had a good check up today!  He is on target for all his milestones, and even above average in communication.  That's such a difference from just a few months ago.  And we are done with shots until it's school time!!!

Weight: 22 lbs 9 oz (25%)
Height: 33.5 in (80%)
Head: 45.5 cm (8%)

We are remaining pretty consistent on our percentiles, which means we have a healthy, growing toddler!

[17]

Cooper just gets more fun each month... that's not to say we don't have our struggles, but he is a lot of fun most of the time!

Clothes: 12 months & 18 months- mainly 18 months

Growing Up:  Cooper has gotten several new words: cat (ki), pat, key, color (kah!), cow, shoe (she), gone, eat, and hey.  He didn't get as many words as last month, but he is making new sounds and chattering constantly. He learned one new sign this month: shoes (which he loves to wear).  And after 5 months of no new teeth, we got 4 this month!  3 in one week.  He also started eating at the table in his booster seat now and he is doing really well with not dumping his plate.  He also uses a fork fairly well when he isn't too eager to eat.  He also can point to most family members. At the beach, we had lots of seafood, and fried clam strips appear to be the favorite!

Likes: being outside, daddy's basketball, jabbering, exploring, bananas, books (especially Curious George!), shoes, coloring, his quiet book, trying to unlock doors (with keys), pumpkins, waffles, blowing kisses, mimicking the things we do (cleaning up, washing hands, sweeping), chips, balls,

Dislikes: when you take away something he was playing with, mommy or daddy leaving him, when he wants something to eat he can't have, "No", not being able to go outside, food with tomatoes, having a poopy diaper, waiting for anything

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changes depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:00 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
9:15 - nap
11:00 - play
12:15 - lunch
2:15 - nap
4:00 -snack
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime

Moments: First time being away from momma for more than 4 hours since he came home from the hospital, first time to the beach, first time in the ocean, first LONG car ride, first time to a real pumpkin patch, first jack-o-lantern (he loved playing with the guts!)

[16]

Happy 16 months!!

Clothes: 12 months & 18 months- 12 months in separates, 18 months in onesies and jumpers.  We are getting close to 24 months though, and I have put up several 12 months things and even some small 18 month ones!

Growing Up: Cooper is running around like crazy!  He has also mastered several words, though most of them start with 'b', so they all sound similar: bird, bye, bug, boo, boom, book, ball, dada, hot, bubble (BU very emphatically), pop (a bubble pops), up, & please (dees).  He has started saying please on his own, but usually needs a reminder.  Still no momma.  He can sign milk, car, book, please, more, eat, and hat.  He can also blow kisses without a prompt now.  Cooper also has been picking up on things we do and tries to do them himself (putting dishwasher detergent in, folding clothes, combing his hair, blowing on his food if it's hot, etc).  He can also locate ears, nose, mouth, tongue, foot, toes, and belly.  He can point to yours, but not his- except he can stick his tongue out. :P

Likes: berries, rolls, carrots, walking, riding mommy like a horse, riding his horse, books, throwing things, emery boards, taking clothes out of the closet, balls, leaves- dead and crunchy ones especially, digging through the trash, bouncing, playing chase, being outside, playing in the rain, opening closet doors, hugs and kisses, patting things, drinking mommy's smoothie, shoes, digging through mommy's purse

Dislikes: when you take away something he was playing with, mommy or daddy leaving him, when he wants something to eat he can't have, riding the in car, "No", not being able to go outside, food with tomatoes, having a poopy diaper, eating noodles

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changes depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:00 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
9:30 - nap
11:00 - play
12:15 - lunch
2:30 - nap
4:00 -snack
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime

Moments:  Cooper got to see most of his family in one week!  He hadn't seen Uncle Clark since Christmas!  He threw up for the first time (yuck!), but he wasn't sick.  He is not eating with a bib on most of the time instead of ripping it off, so he doesn't have to eat naked now.  He fell down the stairs in the sunroom a couple of times, so now he is scared to try to go down alone.  I won't say that bothers me!

[15]

Another month has flown by!  He has become such a big boy over the past month.

Clothes: 12 months & 18 months- 12 months in separates, 18 months in onesies and jumpers.  We are getting close to 24 months though!

Growing Up: Cooper is finally walking!  He chooses to walk most of the time now.  He still crawls a little, but it is rare.  He can also finally (and consistently) get to standing without any help.  He can sign eat and more, but often gets them confused.  They basically mean the same thing to him anyway!  He started saying 'boom!'  It sounds like 'bow' (take a bow), and it is so cute.  Coop also waves bye when someone leaves even if we don't say anything about them leaving.  He has also figured out how to climb!  We often find him standing on a chair or his table.  Thankfully, he has also figured out how to get down.

Likes: berries, rolls, carrots, walking, riding mommy like a horse, riding his horse, when you say 'boom!', climbing on things, trying to plug in things, books, having his head scratched, walking up the stairs with daddy's help, throwing the pillows off the couch, stacking the coasters, emery boards, taking clothes off the rack at Dirt Cheap, balls, books, leaves- dead and crunchy ones especially, waffles, digging through the trash

Dislikes: when you take away something he was playing with, mommy leaving him in the nursery, when he wants something to eat he can't have, riding the in car (this should have been on here since birth, but I'm not sure it has been!), when you give him something to eat he doesn't want

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changes depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:00 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
9:30 - nap
11:00 - play
12:15 - lunch
2:30 - nap
4:00 -snack
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime

Moments:  Cooper spent his first night at Kate Kate's.  He had olives for the first time and really liked them.  He LOVED spending time with Kate Kate.  He was sad to go home!  He got to ride in a golf cart for the first time while visiting her.  Cooper also has had tomato for the first time!  He had BBQ, too, but wasn't a fan.

We are excited for football season- it is upon us!  Hopefully, Cooper will get to go to Starkville for some football this year (although he won't actually go to the game.)

His check up today went well.  Nothing really to report as he is developing on track. Yay!

Height:  31.75 in (75%- he appears to be slowing down in height.  It's about time since we aren't really tall people!)
Weight:  21 lbs 3 oz (25%- we moved way up in the percentiles!)
Head:  45 cm (8%)

Next appointment: December 1

[14]

Excuse the greasy hair- it has sunscreen in it. :)

Clothes: 12 months & 18 months, although I have put away some of the smaller 12 months already!

Growing Up: Cooper took his first steps!! He definitely still prefers crawling, but he is slowly getting there.  He is also able to stand up by himself, but he has only done that a couple of times and still likes to use something to get to standing.

Likes: kitty cats, pointing, handing you something, pulling books off the shelf, being on his knees, seeing daddy come home from work, watching people, frozen yogurt (not the ice cream like stuff; I literally freeze baby yogurt), cantaloupe, watermelon, peaches, quesadillas, playing chase, riding in his red wagon, putting things through the gate, climbing the stairs, closing and opening doors, clicking his tongue

Dislikes: "No", having his diaper or clothes changed, being cleaned up after eating, getting teeth, mommy walking away, walking (he'd rather crawl), riding in the car for longer than 15 minutes, taking something away from him, being still, hot water in his pool

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changes depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:00 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
9:00 - nap
11:00 - play
12:15 - lunch
2:00 - nap
4:00 -snack
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime

Moments: He had ice cream for the first time (at Red Robin for Daddy's birthday).  He gets a couple of bites if we have some, and he LOVES it!  He fell off the deck stairs... his first real fall.  He was fine, but it took longer for us to get over it.  Coop also went to bible class for the first time.  He was great both times, but the second week he got really tired during worship, and we had to leave.

He is at such a fun age!  He is soaking stuff up daily and is such a joy (usually.)  He keeps us on our toes and keeps us smiling and laughing.

[13]

Another month has flown by!

He wasn't very cooperative this morning, so the picture is what it is :)
This is Coop's contribution to the post:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++/+
Clothes: 12 months & 18 months
Growing Up: Cooper is finally drinking from a sippy cup!  He also drinks from a straw... this is a long time coming! Of course, he still doesn't hold the cup himself, but we are getting there.  Coop took one step on his own when we were in KY, but doesn't seem interested in a repeat.
Likes: Jumping, playing outside, pointing, handing you something, pulling books off the shelf, being on his knees, seeing daddy come home from work, watching people, zucchini, bread, hamburger, strawberries, mushrooms, frozen yogurt (not the ice cream like stuff; I literally freeze baby yogurt), playing chase, riding in his red wagon, putting things through the gate

Dislikes: "No", having his diaper or clothes changed, being cleaned up after eating, getting teeth, mommy walking away, walking (he'd rather crawl), the click of the gate when someone leaves his playroom, riding in the car for longer than 15 minutes, taking something away from him

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changes depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:00 - up for the day!
8:15 - breakfast
9:00 - nap
11:00 - play
12:15 - lunch
2:00 - nap
4:00 -snack
4:30 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime

Moments: He swam in Nana and Papa's pool for the first time.  He wasn't too sure the first time, but warmed up to it quickly!  He can woof like a dog.  He also says "ssssss."  He says Dada to J and when he sees him (especially when he gets home from work).  He has also started saying bye bye with meaning lately!  He is starting to get noisier, so hopefully he will get more words soon!

[12]

*Updated*

We have a ONE year old! So much has changed in the past year, it really has just zoomed by.  He is becoming such a big boy and melts our hearts daily.  This time last year was not 100% happy, but this year it is 1000% happy!  We are off to the zoo to celebrate (although, let's be honest, I am the most excited about it :) )!

Clothes: 12 months & 18 months
Growing Up:  He has FIVE teeth.  He can clap his hands (He has been clapping things in his hands for months, but finally decided to use his hands.  It's so cute)!  He also started babbling!  We have been waiting for this for a LONG time.  He can say "dada," which thrills J, of course.  He also says "bye" in context sometimes, but we're not 100% sure he knows what he's doing.  Cooper waves hi and bye- when he wants to.
Likes: BLUEBERRIES, bouncing, playing outside, hitting the doorbell on his way downstairs, pointing, handing you something, reading the same book over and over and over and over..., pulling books off the shelf, putting his hand in the toilet (yuck!), being on his knees, seeing daddy come home from work, watching people, gnawing on wood (blocks, his crib, the entertainment center), his spoon, zucchini, bread, hamburger, Cheerios, pasta (rotini), beans, strawberries, and his momma

Dislikes: "No", having his diaper or clothes changed, being cleaned up after eating, getting teeth, mommy walking away, walking (he'd rather crawl), the click of the gate when someone leaves his playroom

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changed depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:00 - up for the day!
8:00 - breakfast
9:15 - nap
11:00 - play
12:15 - lunch
2:00 - nap
4:00 - play
6:15 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime

Moments:  First birthday party!  He went to the nursery during church for the first time.. and LOVED it.  He also had his first cold this month.

His doctor appointment went well.  I think we chose a great doctor.  The clinic itself is HUGE though!  We can start Coop on dairy to see how he does with the hope of no reaction.  I did try tomato again last night, and it's still a no go. :(  The doctor said Cooper has maintained his percentages for height, weight, and head, so this is probably how he will grow for a while.  Maintaining percentages mean a healthy child. :)  Based on how Cooper was moving and pulling up, the doctor also predicted Cooper will be walking in the next 6 weeks.  Uh oh!

Height: 31 in (90%)
Weight: 18 lbs 10 oz (10%)
Head: 44 cm (7%)

Next appointment: August 27 (15 months)

[11]

Seriously, don't remind me that my baby will be ONE in a month. Don't do it.

Clothes: 12 months & 18 months
Growing Up:  Cooper pretty much crawls exclusively on all fours now.  We haven't seen the army crawl in a while.  He is getting super quick, too!  He has three teeth (I have seen it, but no one else can confirm it.  But I say it is so!).  He can pull up on pretty much anything and can get to his knees by himself.  He can also push himself to sitting now!
Likes: BLUEBERRIES, standing up (while leaning against something or holding onto fingers), walking while holding someone's fingers or using the walker, bouncing, playing outside, being on his knees, seeing daddy come home from work, watching people, gnawing on wood (blocks, his crib, the entertainment center), his spoon, zucchini, bread, Cheerios, pasta (rotini), beans

Dislikes: "No", having his diaper or clothes changed, carrots, being cleaned up after eating, getting teeth, mommy walking away, having his spoon taken away, big bites of peaches or mango

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changed depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:00 - up for the day!
8:00 - breakfast
9:15 - nap
11:00 - play
12:30 - lunch
2:00 - nap
4:00 - play
6:30 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:30 - bedtime

Moments:  Cooper has finally slept through the night again, although it is not a nightly occurence.  We are thankful when it happens though!  He is talking more and more, but still not quite babbling.  We are busy getting the house party ready, and Cooper is glad he doesn't have to sleep in a pink room anymore!

[10]

Cooper would choose to be 10 months old on a crazy day! Haha.  I can't believe how big he is getting.  I apologize for the picture.  I am not sure where in the house I will take the pictures for lighting purposes, so this was a quick picture just to get it done!

Clothes:mainly 12 months, but again, still squeezing him into a couple long sleeve 9 months.

Growing Up: Cooper has changed so much in the last month!  He can crawl on all fours, pull up, wave (when he wants to), and has added 'ma' to his list of sounds. He still only has two teeth, but we see another one (on the bottom) about to poke through.

Likes: standing up (while leaning against something or holding onto fingers), walking while holding someone's fingers, sucking his thumb (and toes!), books, feeling different textures, throwing thing or watching mommy and daddy toss a ball, someone coming to get him up from nap/bed time, anything with lights, his rubber ducky, crawling all around the apartment, peekaboo, doors, watching mommy and daddy in mirrors, gnawing on wood  (blocks, his crib, the entertainment center), eggs, zucchini, bread, Cheerios, pasta, blueberries

Dislikes: having his diaper or clothes changed, carrots, being cleaned up after eating, being in the car seat or stroller for too long, getting teeth, mommy walking away

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changed depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:15 - wake up and nurse
8:00 - breakfast
9:15 - nap
11:00 - play
12:30 - lunch
2:00 - nap
4:00 - play
6:30 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:15 - nurse and bedtime

Moments:  Cooper has a house!  He has been through lots of changes lately, so we are hoping to get back to normal soon.  He has lived in two states now!  He is doing much better in the car, but still isn't a huge fan.  Cooper also eats meat now.  We've got a omnivore on our hands!  He LOVES chicken.

We just simply cannot believe we will have a 1 year old in TWO months!

[9]

Our Cooper is 3/4 years old!  Hopefully by the time he is 10 months, we will be living in Tennessee!

Clothes: a few 9 months that we are squeezing him into (mainly long sleeved shirts) and 12 months
Growing Up: Cooper has gotten much more efficient at crawling.  He gets up on all fours, and for a while seemed interested in crawling like that, but now just enjoys rocking.  He is also working on crawling over obstacles (AKA me).  He has learned to open and close the doors on the entertainment center.  Cooper has also developed the pincher grip and can easily eat small pieces of food (Cheerios, beans, peas). He hasn't shown too much interest in getting to a sitting position from laying, but he seems to want to pull up lately.  He can use the handle on the ottoman to pull himself up though.

Likes: standing up (while leaning against something or holding onto fingers), sucking his thumb (and toes!), books, feeling different textures, throwing thing or watching mommy and daddy toss a ball, someone coming to get him up from nap/bed time, anything with lights, his book he gets in the bath, crawling all around the apartment, peekaboo, story time, playing with Georgie, mommy's plant, watching mommy and daddy in mirrors, Jumparoo (back on the like list!), gnawing on wooden blocks, eggs, zucchini, bread, Cheerios, pasta
Dislikes: having his diaper or clothes changed, carrots, green beans, being cleaned up after eating, being in the car seat or stroller for too long, not being able to crawl over mommy fast enough

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changed depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:15 - wake up and nurse
8:00 - breakfast
9:15 - nap
11:00 - play
12:30 - lunch
2:00 - nap
4:00 - play
6:30 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:15 - nurse and bedtime

Moments:  Cooper stayed in a hotel for the first time!  It was not a success.... the second time was much better!!  He got to touch Maybelline, but we're not sure she liked it.  Cooper LOVED grabbing at her.  He ate in a restaurant for the first time (Zaxby's- he had apples and banana).  We took him to the park and put him in a baby swing.  He didn't HATE it, but he sure didn't like it!  Cooper also went house hunting!  He slept through the house we ended up making an offer on though. Typical baby. :)

Stats:

Weight: 17lbs 11 oz (19%)
Height: 29.25 in (84%)
Head: 17 in (9%)

Next Appointment:  TBD since we will have to find a new pediatrician!

[35] & [8]

Double Whammy today!

And I can see from here on out, it's going to be difficult to get a good weekly picture!

Clothes: a few 6-9 months (most have been put away), 9 months, and some 12 months :-0!

Growing Up: Coop has TWO teeth (although they aren't very visible unless you are looking)!  He also is army crawling.  He only uses his left arm.  It's so cute!!!  He is getting pretty good at it.  Coop can get up on all fours when he wants to (which is usually in his crib.)  I would say 6/7 nights he sleeps all night.  He is also eating solids!  This has been so much fun to watch.  He is already getting smaller pieces in his mouth (though no bean/pea small yet.)  He LOVES eating, too.
Likes: standing up (while leaning against something or holding onto fingers), sucking his thumb (and toes!), sleeping on his belly, doing the airplane with mommy, books, feeling different textures, throwing thing or watching mommy and daddy toss a ball, someone coming to get him up from nap/bed time, knocking down towers mommy and daddy set up, squealing, pears and sweet potatoes, anything with lights, his book he gets in the bath, crawling all around the living room, peekaboo, story time, playing with Georgie, mommy's plant, watching mommy and daddy in mirrors

Dislikes: Not being able get where he is going fast enough, having his diaper or clothes changed, carrots, Jumparoo (this was a big change because he used to LOVE it!), being cleaned up after eating, mommy feeling for his teeth, having his hair washed, growing teeth

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changed depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:30 - wake up
8:00 - breakfast
9:15 - nap
11:00 - play
12:00 - lunch
1:30 - nap
3:30 - play
4:45 - nap (if needed)
5:30 - play
6:30 - supper
7:00 - bath
7:15 - eat and bedtime

Moments:  Cooper has lived in two different years now! He is now in his big boy car seat and uses a big boy stroller (which we have used several times already).

I have slowly been reintroducing dairy.  So far, I think it's going well.  I am still eating mostly dairy free, but am not avoiding dairy if it's in food.  I have even had real milk!  No cheese yet though... that will come next week.  I don't want to eat too much and overload his (or my!) system, so I am not going back completely dairy free yet, but am hoping to get there sooner rather than later.

[7]

  Cooper is 7 months old!

Clothes: 6-9 months, 9 months
Growing Up: Coop is still toothless!  The doctor confirmed he is teething, and judging by the fact that he is drooly and chews on EVERYTHING, I am sure she is right.  Now sure when his first tooth will show up though!  He is sitting up so well now and can stay up for a good while... if he wants to!  Coop is also on the move! While not really crawling, he can spin himself in circles, roll over and over and over to get somewhere, and push himself forward when laying (lying?) on his side.  He is pretty slow at the forward part, but if he wants the toy bad enough, he will get there! ALSO! HE SLEPT ALLLL NIGHT 3 times in the past month (Dec 18, 20, & 21).  Hoping he will start doing it more often... I feel SO much better when I sleep with no interruptions!

Likes: kicking his legs, sitting up, standing up (while leaning against something or holding onto fingers), sucking his thumb (and toes!), sleeping on his belly, knees, feet, fingers, doing the airplane with mommy, books, feeling different textures, throwing things, JUMPAROO!, someone coming to get him up from nap/bed time, FaceTiming with Daddy
Dislikes: Not being able get where he is going fast enough, not being able to roll over on soft surfaces, riding in the car for more than 45 minutes, daddy being sick

Schedule:
This is our basic schedule, but it changed depending on how well he naps and when he wakes up
7:30 - wake up and eat
9:15 - nap
11:00 - eat and play
1:30 - nap
3:30 - eat and play
4:45 - nap (if needed)
5:30 - eat and play
7:00 - bath
7:15 - eat and bedtime

Moments:  Cooper has his first Thanksgiving and Christmas (although we are still waiting to do our Christmas)! He slept all night (11.25 hours!).  He opened his first presents.

I am reintroducing dairy today.. hoping that goes well.  And after trying three times, I just can't bring myself to eat tomatoes on a regular basis yet.  While his reaction is NOTHING like it used to be, it still makes him uncomfortable and gassy.  Same with broccoli.  So my guess is dairy will be a no-go, but I gotta try!  Then we will move on to real food! Bananas are up first!

Doctor, Doctor

Well, J came home from Mississippi not feeling well.  He finally went to the doctor yesterday... and he has the flu.  He has worked some from home, but not a lot.  We will see what happens tomorrow.  This means that J had not held/touched/played with Cooper in several days.  Coop seems sad to see Daddy but not getting to play with him.  J is of course sad.. and naturally, I'm tired! :)

Coop had his 6 month well visit today.  The doctor again said he seems like a normal developing 6 month old!  She has no worries about him and said he seems happy.  That's what a momma likes to hear!!  The nurses also commented on his cuteness and his hair.  Everyone loves his fuzzy head!

Stats:

Weight: 15lbs 14 oz (20%)
Height: 27.5 in (80%)
Head: 16.5 in (8%)

Coop's long with a tiny head. Haha!  We dropped a bit in weight percentiles, but the doctor said that wasn't concerning because he is breastfed.  She also said he would be ready to start solids soon!  We are planning to start once we get back from Christmas in MS (after I reintroduce dairy to see if he can tolerate it... I sure hope so. I want some cheese!)

Next appointment: February 27 for his 9 month check up

[6]

How is it even possible that our sweet baby is half a year old already?!  We don't go to the doctor until Dec. 5 due to Thanksgiving, so I will put his stats in a separate post next week.

Clothes: 6-9 months, 9 months
Growing Up: Coop is still toothless, but thanks to the amber necklace, he has been drooling less and chewing on his hands less!  He is sitting up for a few minutes at a time now!
Likes: kicking his legs, trying to crawl (but not getting anywhere fast!), sitting up, standing up (while leaning against something), playing with his elephant (Ellie), sleeping on his belly, eating daddy's face, eating while mommy sings, trying to blow his tongue, sticking his tongue out, doing the airplane with mommy, sliding books around on the quilt, finding different textures, playing with his toes

Dislikes: Not being able to move when he is trying to crawl, not being picked up immediately when he wakes up, having his diaper changed, riding in the car, when Aunt Caitlin takes the ball away from daddy

Schedule:  We are on a schedule-ish!!!  I debated for a while if I should really try to put him on one, but it really been a blessing to both Coop and me.
All times are ish...
7:30 - wake up
9:15 - nap
11:00 - eat and play
1:00 - nap
2:30 - eat and play
4:30 - nap
5:15 - eat and play
7:00 - bath
7:15 - eat and bedtime

He still wakes up a couple of times to eat at night, but the times change every night.

Moments:  Cooper has his first Halloween!  Not that we went trick or treating.  He also had a baby sitter (Caitlin) for almost 4 whole hours while we went to lunch and a movie.  This was a big deal to me anyway!  He giggled for the first time!  It is so cute! (Of course I recorded it :))

I reintroduced tomato into my diet, and it seems to be going okay.  It makes him a little gassy, but that's the only side effect I have been able to notice, which is great compared to what it used to do to him.  I am still being cautious about eating tomato, but I am eating it in small amounts! Yay!
