School's Out for Summer Trip

Except we are going to do summer school 😄

We left Saturday after soccer games and headed straight for Fort Knox. We toured the museum there, then headed to Menard's to sightsee. For supper, we went to a local Mediterranean place and shared a gyro, beef shawarma with hummus, baba ghanoush, and Jerusalem salad, and lamb kabobs with grilled veggies and yellow rice. We scarfed it all down and topped it off with baklava.

Sunday, we went to the Bernheim Forest for the day. We hiked 6ish miles, saw Forest Giants and  wildflowers, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. After we left, we had ice cream in Bardstown (Apple Butter Pecan, Coffee Crunch, Key Lime Pie, and PB swirl.) We showered at the hotel, then went to downtown Louisville for supper at Bearno's and a walk around the Riverfront.

Monday was dreary, so we headed to Mammoth Cave.

Tuesday after art class, we went to see a Lego exhibit.

It was a fun few days. Now we are taking the rest of the week off from school before summer session begins next week.
