On the Road... Again

Whew!!!  These past couple of weeks have been busy for us.  We have had a good time though!

Cooper being himself
On the way to a wedding, this is how J got Coop to fall asleep

At the end of September, Coop and I set off for NC while J was in Orlando on business.  It was Cooper's first time flying, but he did great!  We had a great time seeing our friends.  I felt like we had never left!

He slid off the bed. Oops.

Flying home

It's hard to tell from the picture, but the mountains had a red glow to them... I love fall!

We had the entire row to ourselves on the way home!

We got back from NC/FL on Thursday, and left Friday for Columbus!  There has been so much travel lately and missed naps, but Cooper has been a trooper through it all.  When he can, he catches up on the missed sleep.

Loves the bubble wand!

Marion, the top of my head, and my arm on SEC Nation

We were back in TN Sunday night, then left again for Columbus Friday. This was the best weekend! J, Marion, and Steven went to Gameday early and held up their signs. One even made a top 10 list!!! I stayed behind and went with Cooper, Nana, and Papa to the pumpkin patch.

Cooper loved loved loved all the pumpkins!

J came back to get me by himself because....

Steven proposed! (And she said YES!)
Soaking wet cheering on our #1 Dawgs!
This was by FAR the loudest game I have been to. Our ears still feel a little funny and our throats are still sore.  Not the mention the blisters from all the cowbell ringing. Man, that was the best football environment ever.  Nothing like it.  #HA1ILSTATE

So we have been insanely, but the good kind!! And we are fans of the #1 team in the nation! We are hoping to go to one more game this year, but we will see. It has been a great fall so far, and it's just getting started! Look for a beach update next week. :)

Fa-la-la-la-la

It's Christmastime! But first, a quick re-cap...

We had Thanksgiving with friends. It was fun and food filled. Saturday, we went to the Vandy @ Wake Forest with them. So glad to cheer for a winning team! We had a great time with them. On the way home, J and I stopped at Steak N Shake. We needed a milkshake fix!

Other than that, not much going on lately. I am wrapping up my semester. My final Monday night class is tomorrow, and my final Wednesday class is Dec. 7. Both classes are just presenting our final projects. I am feeling confident that I will have A's in both classes. :)

Work has been busy, especially since I got a pre-schooler at the beginning of the month. Between adding a new student to the mix and meetings, I have been pretty busy! I was glad to have a break.

I did go out on Black Friday to get a few things, but mostly Christmas decorations. Since we are in a new house, we didn't have any lights for the outside. We also decided to get a real tree this year, so we needed more ornaments, garland, lights, etc. The house is now Christmas-fied, including presents under the tree. :) Less than a month now!
Outside :) I have a porch tree being shipped! So the porch will have a little light, too!

Christmas tree in our room. Since it is in the front of the house, we open the blinds so it can be seen from the road.

Mantle and the real tree! :)

Football Weather

J here for my 2nd blog post (I think that's right).

We had a good weekend with Mamaw and Papaw.  We showed them around the area including the farmer's market which was particularly nice.  C was like a kid in a candy store with all of the pumpkins and gourds for sale :)  We bought a pumpkin, a white pumpkin, a bag of decorative gourds, two mums, and apples (for pie).

Last weekend, we went to the Georgia game in Athens.  We stayed Friday night in Anderson, SC and had dinner with old friends.  It was nice to catch up.  Saturday morning we woke up early and headed to Athens.  The campus wasn't quite as nice as I'd hoped, but the stadium was huge.  We were very high up and neglected to wear sunscreen.  So on top of watching State play a horrible game, our faces got burned up.  After the game, we stayed the night at the Omni in downtown Charlotte which was very luxurious (C got a good deal on PriceLine for the room which we were both excited about). We treated ourselves to room service since we got such a good deal on the room.  Sunday we went out for brunch and shopped for a bit and then headed back home.  Overall, it was a good weekend.

We are heading for the mountains on the 21st for the weekend but until then it should be life as usual.  C is at Girl's Night with the girls from church.  Hopefully she will be back soon :)

Football note: So far this football season has been amazingly disappointing.  If we can beat South Carolina though, things will be looking better.  It is hard to believe that things will ever really change though.  Losing to Auburn pretty much sums up what it's like to be a State fan.  At least things are better than they were a few years ago.

Y'all have a good week!

It's All About the U

It hasn't been a very exciting week here. Just a pretty boring week, which is kinda of nice since my weeks have been a little crazy lately.

Saturday, we went to a pumpkin patch. We really just got 2 pumpkins and left. :) Then we headed to Durham to watch the Duke/Miami game. We ate lunch on Duke's campus. It was chilly in the shade, but pretty warm once we got to the stadium. Unfortunately, it was a rather boring game, so we left before halftime. We then headed to North Raleigh to look at a Juke. One will be coming to our driveway... in a couple of years. :) (hopefully!) Then we came home and watched some football! GO STATE! Ranked for the first time since 2001.

Today, we went to Cary to church. The preacher is a little long winded- but nothing like the one in Fuquay. We also met a nice couple. They have the two cutest kids. They even invited us to lunch. We went and ate at a Mexican place with them. She likes couponing and yard sales! They were older than us, but super nice!

This week, my parents are flying in and John has class. Should be a good week!

DUMA

This week, I saw students for the first time this semester. Between co-teaching the 7:45 class everyday and sorting our schedule troubles, I was so ready for this week to be over!

Friday, we rented The Ghost Writer from the redbox. I don't remember hearing about it, but it was actually pretty good! We woke up Saturday and headed to RDU to pick up Clark. After we got him, we headed to Durham for the Duke/Bama game. We ate at a shopping center area... J and I had pizza, and C had Mediterranean. Then we headed to campus, which was a mad house. There were probably more Bama fans than Duke fans! We saw a couple of guys who had cut a BAMA shirt and a DUKE shirt in half and had sewn them back together as BAKE and DUMA. We found a bookstore and I got a blue shirt, and so did C. Then we took a quick look at Duke's Basketball Court. We headed into the game about 1.5 hours early, figuring it would be full... we were wrong, so we baked in the sun for an extra hour. :) We all have 1/2 red bodies. :)

Today, we went to church in Raleigh with Anna again. Her parents and brother were visiting, so we went to eat at Cafe Carolina with them. When they left, we headed to Goodberry's for frozen custard, then hung out with Anna for a while. Now we are waiting for Swamp People to come on!
